The quarter-finals for the 2021 African Cup of Nations are finally here.
The last round was filled with surprises, but now the teams left in the competition are just two wins away from a ticket to the final, they are fully focused on making it through to the final four.
Today, Cameroon, The Gambia, Burkina Faso and Tunisia are set to battle it out for that precious ticket.

The Gambia v Cameroon, 17:00 CET, Japoma Stadium, Douala
Cameroon, as the hosts, will enjoy tremendous support in the stands of the Japoma Stadium for this quarter-final clash. To add to that, Vincent Aboubakar, the tournament’s top goalscorer, is keen on equalising Samuel Eto’o and Hossam Hassan’s record of seven goals in one AFCON finals.
The Gambia, on the other hand, are one of the biggest surprises so far. They have a project under Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet that has seemingly reached its peak with this team. Mousa Barrow, Modou Barrow, Darboe Dembo and Omar Colley all add quality to the Gambian’s under-the-radar unit, and they could cause a shock in Douala.
BabaGol’s prediction: A tournament is dead when the home nation exits early. The Gambia will prove to be a challenge for the hosts, but it won’t be enough. Cameroon are here to win.

Burkina Faso v Tunisia, Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adija, Garoua
This game is tricky to predict as it includes two teams who have already shown both their strengths and weaknesses this tournament. Burkina Faso’s strength is in its midfield, they show their quality when they hold on to the ball and create dangerous chances - it’s something that Tunisia's Youcef Msakni similarly does well.
Whilst things look good when they're on the attack, defensively both teams' could do with more focus and coordination.
BabaGol’s prediction: Despite both sides being pretty even throughout this tournament, Tunisia’s experience and killer instinct will make all the difference.
