Simba day is a traditional celebration of one of Tanzania’s biggest clubs.
Saturday, August 22nd, hosted a great event of African football: Simba Day 2020, a spectacle of pure East African football passion.

In the Tanzanian capital, the biggest club in the country has celebrated in its traditional way: Simba day. A happening of performances, players’ presentation, and a friendly game. This year it was Vital’o FC from Burundi who took part in one of the greatest shows in Tanzanian football.
Simba won 6-0 against their East African visitors, and the fans at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium enjoyed. Although the terraces weren’t full. Tanzania has been declared ‘COVID-19 free’ by the country’s president, and whether it is true or not, the atmosphere was a rare view in the current era.
Simba is a growing power in African football, and when things will get back to normal in African football reality, it will be interesting to see if they can preserve this momentum at the continental level.
