After calling Primus Ligue 1 off on April 14 and facing coronavirus spread in the country, Burundi restarted its football activity today.
On Thursday afternoon, at the Ingoma stadium in Gitega, Musongati hosted Athletico Academie.
Hundreds of supporters from both sides were present in the stands, as well as the president of the FFB, Burundian Football Federation, Révérien Ndikuriyo.
The match itself was an entertaining one indeed and ended in a 3-3 draw.
Musongati now sits in second place, 3 points behind the leaders, Le Messager Engozi, with three matches to go. It will be interesting to see how the forced break will influence the title race in the only active league in Africa at the moment.
