Belarus Premier League matchday 10 continued on Thursday evening, with the clash between Neman Grodno and Torpedo BelAZ Zhodino.
The visitors, Torpedo, started the game with a bang, and after ten minutes it was already 0-1. Dmytro Yusov notched the first after a great team effort and with an acrobatic finish.
During the first half, it seemed like Torpedo was going to keep pace with league leaders, BATE, who hammered Dynamo Brest on Wednesday.
Neman had different plans though. On the verge of halftime, they equalized through Gleb Rassadkin. 1-1 at the break.
The second half was a completely different story. Veteran Valeri Zhukovskiy scored a penalty and made it 2-1 for the locals, named after the famous Neman river that flows through the city.
Twenty minutes later, and Torpedo’s dreams for points were all gone. Serbian forward, Zoran Marušić, nailed the third for the hosts and the last nail in Zhodino’s coffin. Neman with the precious points, Zhodino is already far behind BATE who is establishing a safe gap.
The 10th round of the Belarusian Premier League will continue throughout the weekend and will be broadcasted in BabaGol as well.
