Gwangju FC achieved a remarkable comeback in the AFC Champions League Elite 2024/25 Round of 16, overturning a 2-0 first-leg deficit to defeat Vissel Kobe 3-0 after extra time in the second leg, securing a 3-2 aggregate victory and advancing to the quarter-finals.

The second leg, held at Gwangju's home ground, saw the hosts determined to reverse their fortunes. Park Jeong-in opened the scoring, reducing the aggregate deficit to 2-1.

Albanian forward Jasir Asani then made a significant impact, scoring twice—once in regular time to level the aggregate score and again in extra time to complete the comeback.

This victory exemplifies Gwangju FC's resilience and tactical prowess, as they successfully neutralized Vissel Kobe's initial advantage to progress in the tournament.
